Continuation of psychographic profiling - Target audience

As some extra research I have looked at the favourite brands of each of the specific tribes we analysed in the previous post. When looking into the alternative group for our target audience, there were some diagrams which showed what area of the media they consume the most.

The alternative tribe as a whole

Looking at the Media consumed by the alternative group, which is one of our main target audiences, we can see that our main target for our band magazine advertisement will be either an advert for NME or KERRANG, which are the two companies featured in the most popular media companies for the alternative group. Youtube and facebook could also be a large part of bringing our music video to this specific audience. This means that the video we create must be inventive and original to try and make our audience want to watch the video again. By trying to make the audience view a second time this means that they obviously found something of interest within the video and may share links through these websites.

Looking at the overall media consumption this is a very good audience to target.  All of the areas of their media consumption are relatively high, which means that the audience will be easier to target as the media products we produce for our final piece will have a greater means of widening our target audience through their massive media consumption. One of the largest areas of media consumption in this particular group is the internet. This shows that their is a large market for our kind of media products, which can all be distributed on different websites, such as social networking sites like facebook, youtube and magazine websites. As you will see, one of the major websites which this group use is play.com. This means that if we were producing our media products professionally, the CD for which we are producing the album art work could be sold via this website.
